The rumour treadmill about iPhone 7 losing its headphone jack is getting stronger and stronger. More and more evident are proving the soon to be obsolete 3.5 mm headphone jack on iPhone that has also been used universally by everyone else since before time. Brace yourselves

Apple Is a Trend Setter

They might not be the first to implement new technology, but boy when do they they sure make a splash in the tech world. Remember when iPhone started using mainly touch screen? Then boom! Everyone followed along. Remember when iPhone start using "premium" build materials? Then boom! Everyone followed along. Remember when iPhone started using fingerprint readers? Then boom! Everyone followed along.

S6 6S, even the naming is almost the same

What would happened if they lose the 3.5 mm headphone jack? It could be possible that others will follow along. Looking at some Samsung, Xiaomi, and HTC; their devices are getting closer and closer to acting and looking like an iPhone.

Why it's probably a bad idea

Well, if others follow along you gotta say goodbye to all those money spent on expensive good quality earphone, headphones, speakers, etc.. Or buy an adapter and live with it by only listening to music when not charging.

Well, if Android manufacturers were to do so, there would be a lot of cheaper alternatives for us. Apple on the other hand... Let's take a moment of silence for them.

A moment of silence, please

Why it's probably a good idea

As a tech news reader, most of us probably know that 2016 would be the year where VR will rise. There are many company who are experimenting with VR. For example, Oculus Rift, HTC's Re:Vive, Samsung's Galaxy VR, and many more to come. And to accompany this visual breakthrough, an audio breakthrough might be needed too.

There are many new audio experiments such as 5D Audio Experience that aims to support VR but what if the current 3.5 mm jack just couldn't achieve it? Here is where Apple's lightning port audio or USB C port audio may have to come in.

The next advancement of media entertainment and gaming... and also porn

And not only that, what if there were more than one lightning or USB C port? Now you can choose which one will be used for charging, which one would be used for audio and swap them when needed.

So what do you think about Apple changing their audio port? Would it affect us Android users? Do you think it's a bad or a good idea? What are your opinions on it?
