Rival Knights Gameplay
"Brace yourself, Winter is coming.", actually it is Winter here and Rival Knights, a game made by Gameloft, came into Play Store (and App Store) a few days ago. In Rival Knight, you play as a knight named however you like and joust your way up through the leagues. Being a Game of Thrones follower, this Medieval game is an addiction to me.
There are 5 leagues in the game, starting from the bottom are:
And in each league there are 5 bosses that you have to defeat.
The gameplay is quite easy.
The game uses currency in golds and gems which can be obtained during the story progress or purchased via the In Game Purchase feature. Gems are harder to obtain but by participating in Online Events and completing certain events you can get from 1 to 5 gems per play. And certain items require gems to be bought, mostly good ones.
There two stamps you get in this game, the red Royal Stamps and the blue Social Stamps which both is limited to 6 stamps. To play a normal game, you need 1 Royal Stamp per play and to play an online game, you need 1 Social Stamp per play.
A Royal Stamp gets refilled every 6 minutes and a Social Stamp every 5 minutes. If you're out of stamps, you can also ask your allies or pay (using gems) to get some more.
As seen on the previous picture, there are 5 items that you can purchase and upgrade, which are the following:
To win a match there are 3 things that you should be aware of, both your and your opponent's defense, speed, and offense point.
In order for a complete victory, you have to at least win 2 of the mentioned above. No matter how far behind your other end is, you still win if you have 2 stronger point. To get better accuracy, buy Horse and Lance which have an Easy Handling or Fair Handling. Even if you get all Perfect Start, High Speed, and Perfect Hit bonuses, if you still lose in number, you lose.
Well it's free, fun, and if you're into Mediaeval games or Game of Thrones, this should be enjoyable in your free time. And you can compete online with other players to win prizes. The only downside of this game is that some rare ammount of times it freezes on high quality graphic so I recommend to lower the graphic to Optimal in the Settings if you are experiencing some freezes.

- League of the Rose
- League of the Wind
- League of the Falcon
- League of the Gryphon
- League of the Dragon

Jousting Your Way
The gameplay is quite easy.
- First you start off by choosing which boost you want to use or just start without choosing any boost. Boost cost some gems and you can get some free after completing certain events.
- When you're done choosing your boost and pressed Play, there will be a 3 seconds count down, tap anywhere on the screen right after the "I" sign appears to get extra Perfect Start bonus.
- After you tap the screen, your horse will start running. There will be gauge on the right side and an arrow moving from the bottom to the top. Tapping anywhere on the screen while the arrow is in the green area will increase your speed, in the yellow area will increase your speed but only by a little, while in the white area doesn't affect your speed. Tapping in the green area all the time will give you a High Speed bonus.
- Once you and your opponent are close, you will have to move your lance to a certain point. However, you don't have to touch the lance. You can move it by touching any area of the screen. Move the lance until the circle becomes smaller to yellow or green, other than that you will lose because you missed the target. If you managed to get the circle turn into green, you get the Perfect Hit bonus.

Weapons and Equipment
As seen on the previous picture, there are 5 items that you can purchase and upgrade, which are the following:
- Helms: This affects your defense.
- Armor: This also affects your defense.
- Horses: This affects your speed.
- Lance: This affects your offense.
- Emblems: This is only for decoration purpose, you can change your flag here.
Winning a Match
To win a match there are 3 things that you should be aware of, both your and your opponent's defense, speed, and offense point.
- Defense point are constant and can never increase or decrease during the game, unless you use Defense Boost, so it's best purchasing the best helmet and armour as possible.
- Speed depends on your horse and your accuracy on step 3, so even if your oppenent's horse is faster, there is still a chance for you to trump in this area.
- Offense depends on your lance and your accuracy on step 4, and the same also applies, depending on your accuracy, you can still win here.
In order for a complete victory, you have to at least win 2 of the mentioned above. No matter how far behind your other end is, you still win if you have 2 stronger point. To get better accuracy, buy Horse and Lance which have an Easy Handling or Fair Handling.
